Contact a Construction Attorney When Assistance Needed
Video Transcribed: Tulsa Attorney Brian Carter with the tulsaconstructionlawyer.com and in this video I’m going to discuss attorney’s fees and who’s responsible for the attorney’s fee. Get asked this question a lot.
Typically, in Oklahoma, each party is responsible for their own attorney’s fees, however, there are statutory provisions that allow for a prevailing party to recover attorney’s fees in cases brought to recover for labor and services or based on contract for sale of goods or other merchandise, which oftentimes a construction related issue would fall under.
It all depends on the underlying cause of action, whether or not a attorney’s fee can be awarded to a prevailing party. Depending on the type of case and what is sought to recover, there may be grounds to recover an attorney’s fee for a prevailing party. Thanks for watching, Brian Carter, tulsaconstructionlawyer.com.
