Contact a Construction Attorney when Assistance Needed
Video Transcribed: Tulsa construction attorney Brian Carter with Tulsa Construction Lawyer.com. And, in this video, I’m going to real quickly answer the question are contractor’s required to have a license in Oklahoma.
Currently, the state of Oklahoma does not require general contractors to be licensed. However, other trades are required to be licensed such as electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and roofing contractors, as well as those who do inspections.
With regard to the trades that required licensing, more information can be found at the Oklahoma Construction Industries board website, which is a CIB.ok.gov. And there is good information on the licensing requirements and the procedure to go about becoming licensed.
In a subsequent video, I’m going to talk a little bit more about the roofing trade and the licensing requirements specific to that. Again, there is no requirement that a general contractor have a license in the state of Oklahoma.
